Matt Miller's Sharpie: Lemon to Miami

Matt Miller gives Rich his sharpie picks with ten days until the draft, and the one he is most confident about is already in the building for a visit.

Makai Lemon to the Dolphins at 11. Miller has had it locked in for weeks. Lemon is in Miami today, and the pairing has been circled in every mock draft for longer than that.

The second sharpie Miller names is Caleb Downs to the Bengals at 10. As close to a lock as the board gets.

The third is the one Miller wants to spend time on. Dillon Thieneman to the Vikings at 18.

Miller walks through the layers. The Cowboys at 12 could break the board if Thieneman is there and their preferred targets are off. They have massive needs at safety and corner. The new 3-4 defense wants a rover. Thieneman fits the description.

But Miller's read is Thieneman gets past Dallas. At 18, the Vikings make him the replacement pick for Harrison Smith. A clean swap. Thieneman was a playmaker at Purdue, transferred to Oregon, played under Dan Lanning, and became incredibly versatile while operating as a high-IQ leader on the back end.

Miller's framing is pointed. The Vikings need a hit in the first round after several misses from their former front office. New GMs want first-round hits. Offensive linemen are often those hits. Miller thinks Thieneman is one of the true hits in this class regardless of position.

Rich brings up Jerzhan Newton, a popular sharpie for the Cowboys at 12. Miller corrects the name to Shavon Revel Jr., the Tennessee corner coming off an ACL. The Cowboys angle is unique. Their team doctor is one of the best in the nation at that specific injury. Dallas has history drafting players coming off injury and trusting the medical staff to get them right.

Jerry Jones said this year the team needed to stop drafting projects and start drafting players who can produce. Miller argues Revel fits. Four interceptions at Tennessee in 2024. A lockdown corner on tape. The missed year is a question mark, but Tennessee was out of the College Football Playoff race. If they had been in, Miller thinks Revel would have been back on the field by January.

The pro day workout answered the readiness question. Revel looked like a player ready to step on the field and play immediately.

Miller's board ten days out is clear. Lemon to Miami. Downs to Cincinnati. Thieneman to Minnesota. Revel as the Dallas wild card if the medical staff signs off.

That is the sharpie list before the board starts shifting this week.
