It's 11:50 at night and TJ Jefferson is in Pittsburgh, O'Shea Jackson Jr. is back in Los Angeles, and No Contest Wrestling is doing the Wrestlemania 42 download anyway because they love y'all that much. Vegas is creeping back up on TJ. He doesn't care.
The ESPN pre-show on the Mouse's clock comes first. 6:45 a.m. call time. Suits. Shoutouts to Rafa and the Bristol crew piping directions into their ears, which created a moment where R-Truth tapped TJ's arm on set because he thought TJ had been talking to himself for a full minute. They got Damian Priest and R-Truth, then Liv and Nia. They didn't ask John Cena to come on the podcast, they want it noted. The flavor is finding them.
Night one breakdown. The Usos and LA Knight beat DIY and IShowSpeed in a match TJ pre-sold by overhearing Speed's father in the row in front of them announcing his son was a top three athlete of all time. Nia Jax and Lash Legend coming out dressed like Demolition, with Demolition in the crowd, gets a full nod. Then Nikki Bella comes out in a boot, Paige replaces her, and Bella plus Paige walk out as tag champs, which both hosts admit they did not see coming.
Gunther beats Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker interferes, and TJ argues the match was tracking toward five stars before the run-in. He gives night one a 7.8, eight tops, with the live-experience bump baked in. He lost his voice four times this weekend. Liv Morgan defeats Stephanie Vaquer with help from the Judgment Day, and O'Shea pitches a fantasy faction of Vaquer, Julia, and Kiana James on Smackdown. TJ pushes back. Vaquer's job is Vaquer.
Night two delivers. Finn Balor returns as the Demon to beat Dom Mysterio in a match where the back-paint shows the Demon eating Dom. Rhea Ripley reclaims the WWE Women's Championship from Jade Cargill, and both hosts give Jade her flowers for one of her best outings. Dan Hausen interrupts a Miz moment with Cena dying laughing, and the speed-Hausen tag team pitch gets floated as the most sellable merch idea of the year.
The main event is the call. Roman Reigns over CM Punk, no shenanigans, no cousins, half an hour, five stars. Punk's body finally gives out the way Moxley's and Rollins' did when he hit them with the bouncing GTS, a Shield Easter egg the boys catch in real time. Punk's jacket carried Larry, his Puerto Rican flag, and Harley Race's crown.
Gronk Beach. Trick Williams. Sheamus. Rey Mysterio with his own theme playing. Ted DiBiase Jr. handing the original Million Dollar belt to Jamie I. Carmelo Hayes wanting on the pod. The Undertaker possibly next. Lily White sheets calling. They out.
