KC Concepcion Claims the WR1 Crown

KC Concepcion makes his case for best receiver in the draft, and he does not soften the claim for anyone.

His Athletic piece is the throughline. Rich says the emotion came off the keyboard. Concepcion wanted his story told in his own words, because the public debate about the top receiver in this class has been loud, and his answer is that he is the one. Most versatility. Most playmaking. Best in the class.

The visit totals back up the receiver's confidence in his own market. 11 or 12 top-30 visits. Zooms with nearly every other team. He has seen most of the league in person. The named list is deep. Tennessee. Las Vegas. New England. The Giants. Cleveland. Carolina. San Francisco. The Chargers. Buffalo.

Rich turns the pre-draft experience into a snapshot. Concepcion is mostly asleep on planes, admitting to a little snoring. When he is awake, he is watching From on MGM and rewatching The Wire, which he calls one of the best dramas of all time. Rich plays off the Baltimore angle. If he is watching The Wire again, does that mean he is going to be a Raven. Concepcion would love to play with Lamar Jackson, who he says is the best quarterback in football. Put the right pieces around him and it becomes legendary.

On positional fit, he is emphatic. X, F, or Z. Does not matter. He can line up anywhere. Returner too. Punts or kickoffs, both are in the bag. Rich jokes he might be too valuable to put back there.

His game model breaks down into specific pieces. After the catch, he studies Ja'Marr Chase. On releases, he watches Davante Adams. Overall, the comp he offers is Jaylen Waddle or Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Rich tees up the punchline the way only Rich can. He hopes the bank account compares at some point too.

What stands out across the interview is the consistency of the pitch. A receiver who believes he is the best in the class, who has done the visits to back the belief, who has studied the game tape of the players he wants to emulate, and who is willing to say out loud what many prospects only hint at. Confident. Versatile. Ready.

The clip cuts before the emotional close his other appearance lands on, but the message is already delivered. If a team is picking a wide receiver this year, Concepcion wants them to know exactly who they are getting, and exactly what he thinks of himself relative to everyone else on the board.
