Rich got asked to power-rank the NFL's Thanksgiving weekend slate on the fly. He answered live.
The branding got debated first. Top five or power ranking?
"Top five," Rich confirmed after the room weighed in.
He started at the bottom and explained the call.
"Number five, I'll go Denver and Pittsburgh," Rich said. "Right now in the middle of May, Rodgers is not there yet. He's not there yet. Will Howard against Bo Nix. Why not?"
Number four came with a personal flag.
"I'll go Packers-Rams," Rich said. "Just because it's not a division game. As a passionate Rams fan."
Then he sang.
"I like the Rams and I cannot lie," Rich said.
Number three was a divisional Thanksgiving classic in the works.
"Bears-Lions is three," Rich said.
Number two split the AFC's top two.
"Chiefs-Bills," Rich said.
The top spot was the easy one for him.
"Number one is Eagles-Cowboys," Rich said. "They hate each other, man."
Rich's case for that game leaned on the nostalgia file the broadcast will inevitably reach for.
"They'll be Madden and Summerall," Rich said. "Calls of Reggie White, Nate Newton, turducken. We'll see what the Jimmy Johnson saying that Buddy Ryan got his fat butt back in the locker room. It's going to be some serious memory lane stuff."
The conversation wandered toward the Sunday night game, because Thanksgiving leftovers are Rich's favorite kind of food.
"Thanksgiving leftovers are great," Rich said. "Oh yeah, for first few days."
Rich also flagged the broadcaster intrigue around the Thanksgiving night game.
"In case anyone's wondering, we will find out just how much Chris Collinsworth, if this is true, loves Patrick Mahomes, that he'll do the Thanksgiving night game, which he does not do," Rich said. "That's usually a Jason Garrett assignment on NBC. Oh, I think you know how much he loves it."
The Collinsworth-check was on.
"If he shows up, check the box," Rich said. "If he doesn't, then Tirico, as you know, who does the game, will have to make sure, and next time I talk to Mike, I'll make sure Jason Garrett slides in. It's mandatory."
The cast offered a Christopher Walken impression in lieu of a Collinsworth one. Rich had no use for Christopher Walken. Coop, apparently, can do Collinsworth.
The five, as called on the fly: Eagles-Cowboys, Chiefs-Bills, Bears-Lions, Packers-Rams, Broncos-Steelers.
