Top 5 Teams That Should Trade Up

Rich's top five teams that should trade up in the NFL draft came with a twist. He was not just naming teams. He was naming the player. And four of the five picks pointed at the same guy, Jeremiah Love out of Notre Dame.

Number five was the Cleveland Browns. Yes, they already have Quinshon Judkins. No, that does not matter. Love is a game-changing, multi-position player, and the Browns need more of those. Move up a spot or two with some second- or third-day capital and get him.

Number four was the Kansas City Chiefs. They just signed Kenneth Walker, but Walker did not lead the Seahawks in touchdowns, Zach Charbonnet did. Love plus what Kansas City already has is the better answer. Take the swing.

Number three was the New Orleans Saints. They should trade up for whichever quarterback the Jets do not take at two. Rich clarified this was Bailey Reese, the shorthand the show has been using. Or, if that path closes, move up for Love anyway.

Number two was the New York Jets, who should move up for wide receiver Carnell Tate. Daniel Jeremiah put the idea in Rich's head, and Todd McShay has landed in the same place. Rich revisited the moment where Tate put his hands on his hips against Michigan and effectively ended the game, and noted Tate held up the gold pants on a recent appearance, the first Ohio State player to get them since 2019.

Number one was the Dallas Cowboys. Trade up for Jeremiah Love. TJ Jefferson pushed back hard. Dallas already paid its running back in Tony Pollard's successor, and defense is the bigger need. Rich's counter was consistent with the list. Supercharge what is already working. The Eagles did not obviously need Saquon Barkley either, and the 49ers did not obviously need Christian McCaffrey. Both moves won the point.

Then came the bonus. The Patriots, at 31, should pony up what Howie Roseman wants for AJ Brown. Rich made clear he had checked with a few evaluators before floating the number, and the framework landed at 31 plus a third-day pick. For a true number-one receiver next to Drake Maye, Rich argued that is the kind of compensation that makes Howie pause. Give it to him. Let the Eagles draft another guy late. Get Drake Maye the real target.

Four of five picks were the same guy. The fifth was a receiver. The bonus was a receiver. The Rich top five ended up being less a list and more a pattern.
