Rich Reveals the Details of What Happened During a Certain Recent Celebrity Wedding

Rich held off for two hours, then finally gave the audience the wedding everyone had been asking about. It happened at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas, and the couple was Chris Brockman and Sarah Tiana, with their son Cage standing between them. Every photograph shown on the air, Rich noted, he took himself.

The ceremony had a twist Chris had kept quiet. The officiant in the blue dress was Archie, one of his oldest friends, whom he met his second or third day at Syracuse as a freshman. A die-hard DC sports fan, she had not been announced to the old crew from the Q's, so friends were baffled to see her up there until she started talking and, in Chris's words, absolutely killed it.

Rich could tell Chris was bubbling beneath the surface when he walked in with his boy. Father and son were dressed the same, right down to the suit, the white shirt and tie, the sneakers, and the Travis Scott Jordan lows. When Sarah walked in, Chris lost the tears battle badly, a rout, and the room got a good laugh out of a golf tan line he could have evened out with an hour in the sun. The little church has hosted plenty of famous vows over the years, from Elvis and Judy Garland to Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie.

There was a detail Rich did not know until he asked on the air. After the ceremony, the couple slipped into a small room where an actual justice of the peace handled the legal marriage. Rich had walked past, seen the three of them in great light, and told them to stay put for a photo, assuming they were just ducking the blazing heat. They had, in fact, just gotten officially hitched. Chris held up his left hand to show the ring, still getting used to it, and mentioned how strange it feels to wash your hands or put on lotion with it on.

The week had its own Vegas lore. The family was in town more than five days, and at one point Chris and his new brother-in-law sent young Cage pulling a cooler full of beers through a casino, a first, Chris figured, but probably not a last. Rich spoke at the dinner, telling stories about the Chris he used to know, including the one about the Tupperware he never returned to Susie, before landing on the man he knows now. Rich and Susie, he said, were honored to be included.
